Felippe Massa has been decalared as the winner of the Belgian Grand Prix after Hamilton was awarded 25 second penalty for his involvment in the incident with Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen which saw the latter crashing out of the race, after he was leading right up front. This has pushed BMW Sauber’s Heidfeld to 2nd place and Hamilton drops to 3rd position. Great day fro STR-Ferrari as both their drivers finished in top 10 with Sebastian Vettel finishing 5th and Sebastien Bourdais finishing 6th. Had Hamilton not been penalised, he would have been leading the drivers standings with 80 points followed by Massa with 70 points. After being penalised and loosing crucial 2 podium places, Hamilton still leads the drivers standings with 76 points followed by Massa with 74 points. Robert Kubica is at 3rd position with 58 points, 1 point more than Raikkonen who is in 4th place. With 5 more races to go, the battle for the drivers championship is getting intense with Massa and Hamilton locking horns against each other.

A brilliant British Grand Prix victory has lifted him right back into contention for the world championship, on a day when Kimi Raikkonen failed to shine and Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa and BMW Sauber’s Robert Kubica were the ones who came home pointless. h did well to finish second ahead of Rubens Barrichello who finished third. Barrichello’s podium finish has brought some cheer to the Honda camp after their other driver Jenson Button failed to finish. Really disappointing day for Ferrari with Kimi Raikkonen finishing fourth and Massa, who spun at least five times in the race, came last of the 13 finishers and failed to pick up a point. McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen finished 5th behind Kimi after he started from Pole. He could not capitalise his maiden Pole position to get to Maiden Victory, something for which he will be cursing himself 🙁 Alonso has stuck to his 6-7-8 positions and he finished 6th ahead of Jarno Trulli and Kazuki Nakajima who was the last one to finish among the points.

Heidfeld seems to be back in his old self running for a string 5th place grid position. Good to see Toro Rosso’s Sebastian Vettel starting along side Nelson in the 4th row. He will be starting 8th ahead of Ferrari’s Felipe Massa. Massa looked good during the practice but in the qualifying suffered a problem with the right rear wheel nut on his Ferrari during his final tyre change, and never made it out for his second run. BMW’s Kubica will be starting alongside Massa in the 10th position. Disappointing qualifying for Toyota’s Jarno Trulli, after his podium finish in the last race. As usual Force India’s drivers Adrain Sutil and Fisichella will be starting at the end of the grid. They were atleast somewhat close to Honda’s, thats something to cheer about for Mallya 😉
circuit. Massa trailed Kimi Raikkonen for 38 of 70 laps but moved ahead as Kimi’s F2008 developed an exhaust problem. Kimi Raikkonen otherwise had a great race and easily finished second behind his teammate Massa. No other team could actually stood up against the red cars. Jarno Trulli finished 3rd behind Kimi giving Toyota their first podium since 2005.
the saturday’s qualifying session at Magny-Cours.Fellipe Massa will be sharing the first row with team mate Kimi after Massa finished second in the Qualifying. Great comeback by Ferrari after the last race debacle where they missed out on podium and Kimi failed to finish the race after collision with Force India driver Adrian Sutil. McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton finished 3rd but will have to start from 13th place following his grid penalty from Canada. His teammate Heikki Kovalainen was not impressive and will start from 5th position. Fernando Alonso got some good to feel about for Renault, he will start from 3rd position sharing the row with Toyota’s Jarno Trulli. BMW Sauber had not much to cheer about, after their drivers could not garner good grid positions, their drivers Robert Kubica, winner of Cannadian GP, will start 6th and Nick Heidfeld will start from 11th positions respectively. As usual bad day for Force India-Ferrari, Vijay Mallya must be cursing himself 🙁 , their drivers will fill up the last row 😉
