England Cricket Board(ECB) has till now has not allowed its centrally contracted players to play in the BCCI- backed Twenty20 venture, but in Pietersen’s case they were already ready to making an exception.
Kevin has been offered a record $4 million deal for three years, much more than what Dhoni gets, to play in the next edition of the Indain Premier League. ECB is not objecting the lucratvie deal for the dashing batsmen. And mostly Pietersen will be given the green light by ECB. If he is signed then this will be the most lucrative deal yet offered in IPL.
But thats a long way to go. I just thought of putting it up as i came across the news in Times Of India Sports dated May 18, 2008.
Seems an interesting deal and i will be looking forward were the deal finally ends up and who will sign him up. But one thing are they worth of so much money. Can’t that be put to a better use? NGO’s, Social Entrepreneurs? Oh lots of things going on in my mind.
